The Manor House have teamed up with Newcastle and Stafford colleges group to deliver an apprenticeship programme.

As part of our commitment to our team and continuous learning, we’ve been working with NSCG for over 10 years now to support our employees through their studies and achieving qualifications to develop in their careers.  Together we’ve seen 52 of our existing staff members to gain qualifications.

This year, the partnership has extended to deliver an apprenticeship scheme and welcome new apprentices to The Manor House.

Jayne Wood, Director of Nursing said, “The apprenticeship scheme will be a superb way of not only ensuring we receive employees who we know will have received the proper training and education to make strong additions to our team, but also to help more people into work in our sector.”

Jodie McVay said, “we’re committed to helping people through their careers – we have members of the team here who have come in as trainees and gone on to become managers.  Caring is what we do – and in order to care for our residents we have to care for our staff and ensure they are supported to thrive in their careers.

It’s no secret the care industry needs more people to come into work in this sector, and through supported learning schemes such as apprenticeships it’s an ideal path to start a highly fulfilling career.

We will ensure our apprentices receive the support they need here from experienced members of the team, time to study and of course the first-hand experience they need to learn.”

The programme covers a range of roles within the nursing home, from Adult Care Workers to office-based Customer Service roles and Hospitality.

Darren Spencer, Apprenticeship Account Manager at NSCG commented on their partnership “Our long-standing partnership with The Manor House has enabled us to support dozens of their existing staff to up-skill and gain wider-industry knowledge to ultimately progress within the organisation. More recently, they have come to us to ask for support with recruiting new apprentices from our keen, willing-to-learn and highly engaged applicant pool. The entire team from The Manor House are a pleasure to work with and we’re really looking forward to continuing our strong working partnership for many years to come.”
