Comfortable Lounges

Our communal lounges are a key part of daily life at Manor House. Designed to be calm, cosy and inviting, they provide a comfortable space where residents can spend time together, take part in activities or simply enjoy some quiet moments. Each unit within the home has its own lounge, helping to create smaller, familiar communities where residents feel safe and settled.

Cosy and Comfortable

Our lounges are thoughtfully furnished to be both homely and practical. With soft chairs, warm lighting, familiar décor and background music, these spaces offer a relaxed atmosphere that supports conversation, companionship and comfort. Whether it’s a group activity, a family visit or simply sitting with a cup of tea and the newspaper, the lounge is a place where residents can feel part of daily life without pressure or routine.

For many residents, the lounge becomes a central part of their day – a place to watch television, chat with staff or engage in gentle hobbies. The space is always supervised and supported by our team, who are there to encourage involvement or offer quiet company, depending on what each resident prefers.

Creating a Homely Environment

We know that a care home should still feel like home, and our lounges are an important part of that. Each one reflects the character of its unit and is tailored to meet the needs of the residents living there. The layout supports those with reduced mobility or dementia, and the environment is designed to feel familiar and comforting at every stage of care.

Whether enjoying a birthday celebration, taking part in a singalong or simply relaxing in a favourite chair, residents have the space to be themselves, in a warm and respectful setting. It’s one more way we make sure Manor House feels just as it should – like home.

Life at Manor House Care Home

Life at Manor House Care Home is centred around kindness, dignity and understanding. From the moment someone joins us, we take the time to get to know them – not just their health needs, but their life story, preferences and routines. Every resident receives personalised care, developed in close partnership with their family and healthcare professionals, to ensure they feel safe, respected and truly at home. With 24-hour care delivered by qualified nurses and a dedicated support team, we provide specialist support for a wide range of physical and mental health conditions, including dementia, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and the effects of substance misuse.

Beyond clinical care, life at Manor House is about community and connection. Daily activities such as baking, crafts, singing and games help residents stay engaged and active, while one-to-one sessions and meaningful conversations add a personal touch. Our in-house café, sensory gardens and on-site hair salon all help to maintain a sense of independence and normality. With freshly prepared meals, homely surroundings and thoughtful touches like birthday cakes and seasonal celebrations, we strive to create a warm and uplifting environment where every resident can thrive.
