Moments That Matter at Manor House
At Manor House Care Home, we believe that growing older doesn’t mean slowing down on joy. In fact, it's quite the opposite. We celebrate because every day brings an opportunity to connect, reminisce, and create new memories together. And when we mark special occasions like VE Day, Father's Day, or a simple cheese-and-wine afternoon, it’s not just about the event. It’s about what it represents.
We celebrated VE Day in true Manor House style, heading outdoors to witness the majestic Battle of Britain fly-by. The skies were kind, the sun showed up, and so did one of our favourite singers, Becci Gee, for a joyful sing-along of wartime classics. These aren’t just songs, they’re soundtracks to our residents’ youth. Singing them together was a way of honouring their stories and the memories they carry with them.
Because remembering matters.
On Father’s Day, we toasted the gents with a Pie and a Pint afternoon—good food, great conversation, and plenty of laughter. These small but meaningful celebrations are part of a bigger promise to treat every resident not just as someone we care for, but someone we celebrate.
Because dignity is in the details.
Our newly refreshed activity programme is buzzing with energy—visiting entertainers, interactive games, and nature walks through our beautiful grounds. From spontaneous dance parties to bird-watching afternoons, life here is vibrant and connected. We’re even planning to install raised planters so our residents can get their hands in the soil and reconnect with a beloved pastime: gardening.
Because purpose never retires.
This month, we’ve been lucky to share trips out into the community, another reminder that care home life is not about closing in, but reaching out.
And we’re not stopping there. The highlight of our summer will be our big Summer Fair on August 30th, a fun-filled family day that brings everyone together. Expect music, games, food, and lots of moments to cherish. We’re already busy planning to make it unforgettable. At Manor House, we celebrate not just the big days, but the everyday.
