At Manor House, pet therapy is more than just an activity—it’s a source of joy, comfort, and connection that brightens the lives of both residents and staff. These visits provide numerous mental and physical benefits, including reducing stress, improving mood, and fostering social interaction.
Recently, we were thrilled to welcome two delightful donkeys, Alfie and Vinnie, to our home. Their gentle nature and loving presence created heartwarming moments, bringing smiles to everyone they met. The residents were overjoyed by their visit, and the donkeys quickly became the stars of the day!
This isn’t the first time animals have made a special appearance at Manor House. We previously hosted Mobile Farm Cheshire, which brought an assortment of friendly animals for our residents to meet and interact with, including fluffy bunnies and gentle goats. Watching the residents connect with the animals was truly heartwarming, and the joy on their faces was a testament to the positive impact these experiences bring.
Animal therapy holds incredible benefits, from reducing stress and improving overall well-being to encouraging social engagement among residents. Whether it’s the gentle nudge of a donkey or the soft fur of a bunny, these moments create lasting memories and uplift the entire home.
Sonia, Manager at Manor House said: “We’re always seeking new ways to enhance our activities, and animal therapy remains one of the most cherished traditions at Manor House. Seeing the laughter and hearing the stories shared after each visit reminds us of how much happiness our furry friends bring to everyone involved.”
